Dr. Rowan E.W. Unger

Dr. Rowan E.W. Unger, PT, DPT (she/they) graduated from Chatham University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in Pittsburgh, PA and currently works for UPMC Rehabilitation Institute as a Pelvic Health Physical Therapist. Dr. Unger is a loudly out and proud queer transgender woman who is passionate about serving her community.

 

Dr. Unger earned two bachelor’s degrees – one in Neuroscience, another in Chemistry – from the University of Alabama at Birmingham before moving to Pittsburgh, PA in May 2015 where she started a long, meandering journey of self-understanding and personal growth before finding her dual home in physical therapy and supporting the gender expansive community. Prior to being a physical therapist, Dr. Unger was a graduate research assistant at a prominent local university that favored research over her contributions to undergraduate education.
